Trying to optimise their site on their own Desert Fire Designs had gone through a lot of plugins. The site arrived on my desk as a White Screen of Death (WSoD), with nothing loading and paid for site not showing anything to potential visitors.
Getting the site back online took some pruning of the 29 plugins, multiple conflicting caching plugins and some tweaks. Once the site was up, it was not in the best shape or on the best hosting available in Australia.
I was able to replicate the design of Desert Fire Designs from another theme into Avada, this would allow more flexibility going forward including allowing them to edit their own site without being confused by the theme. The site looked identical to the one Desert Fire Designs originally had.
Once on Avada and a reputable hosting plan, I was able to optimise the site from images to CDN. Desert Fire Designs is a global business but with an Australian base, the site is hosted in Sydney and with a CDN performs well enough for international visitors in the US
Upgrading the website going forward with a WooCommerce shop to give Ecommerce features using both PayPal & Stripe as payment gateways. Desert Fire Designs site is now able to sell the gems mined here in Australia to anyone in the world with a fast, responsive website that maintains a 99%+ uptime.
